TYREEK Hill is pushing off surgery to continue playing for the Miami Dolphins.

Hill has a wrist injury that could require surgery, but he won’t get it until after the NFL season.

According to Hill, the main issue is pain tolerance, and if he can play through the pain he will continue to push off surgery.

Hill said that he first injured his wrist in a joint practice with the Washington Commanders before the season.

He further aggravated it over the course of the season to the point where he was held out of practices this week.

While hill was questionable before the Dolphins‘ Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Rams, he managed to score a touchdown in the game.

“At the end of the day, I just got to suck it up and just deal with the pain,” Hill said.

“It’s going to get worse the more I play, but I got to [gut] it out for my team.

“I’m here, I’m locked in no matter what, no matter how I feel. So even if I’ve got to cut my wrist off, I’m still out there because I love the game of football.

“Surgery was brought up and it was talked about whenever I talked to a few of the doctors, but it’s my call at the end of the day, and my call is to stay out on the field.”

While Hill is toughing it out for his team, this year wouldn’t be a bad season for him to miss.

The Dolphins are currently 3-6, and Hill is having one of the worst starts to a season in his career.

Hill only has 462 yards and two touchdowns through nine games. That is only on pace for 872 yards over the full season.

That would be the third-lowest yardage total of Hill’s career.

Regardless of his or his team’s play, Hill won’t take himself off the field and is looking forward to finishing the season.

In fact, despite producing lower numbers this year, Hill thinks he is better as a player.

“I feel like for me, I feel like I took a step forward in my game,” Hill said.

“Our position coach [Wes Welker] has helped me develop, becoming a full receiver which is blocking, being stronger at the catch point, running precise routes and stuff like that.

“A lot of people look at the numbers and say, ‘Oh, he was this and that,’ but I feel like as a player, I’ve gotten better.

“As a leader, I’ve gotten better, and I just feel like I’ve gotten better in that sense.”

Hill and the Dolphins’ season likely would have looked a lot different this year if not for the injury to Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins quarterback missed four games this season with a concussion.
