But he left in 2024 to coach his old high school Miami Northwestern HS – guiding them to a state title.

Now, the quarterback is ready for a return to NFL.

“That’s the plan,” Bridgewater told NFL Network. My team knows that’s the plan.

“We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football.

“We’ll see how it plays out.”

Bridgewater did not name a club he wants to sign for but he hinted he was about to get on a plane and discuss a contract.

That followed as the Lions posted on social media to congratulate Bridgewater for winning the state championship.

He played for the Lions in 2023 for just one game against the Panthers – but did not even throw a pass.

The quarterback was a first round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2014.

He led them to the playoffs in 2015 and earned a nomination to the Pro Bowl.

Bridgewater then suffered a brutal torn ACL ahead of the 2016 season and faced an 18-month rehabilitation.

He returned to the field in December 2017 to huge cheers from Vikings fans.

He signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Miami Dolphins for the 2022 season to back up Tua Tagovailoa.

But he was thrust back into the spotlight after Tua’s concussion problems during the campaign.

Bridgewater signed with the Detroit Lions for the 2023 season and was backup to Jared Goff.

But he announced in December that this would be his last year playing professional football.

He ended his career with 75 touchdowns and 15,120 passing yards.
