Joseph only played in four games for Miami and recorded just two tackles.
His lack of playing time came even when the Dolphins played most of the season without star corner Jalen Ramsey.
The 23-year-old Joseph last appeared in the Dolphins’ Week 4 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Miami had a bye in Week 9 and decided to waive the defensive back on Tuesday.
The Dolphins, who lead the AFC East with a 6-3 record, saved $600,000 by cutting Joseph.
A product of the University of Kentucky, Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
In two seasons with Dallas, he played in 26 games and posted 27 total tackles, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
However, Joseph only started in two of those appearances.
He was in his third year of a rookie contract, which was worth $7 million when the Cowboys traded him to Miami.
In the deal, Dallas received former first-round pick Igbinoghene, who has only played in 25 snaps.
The Dolphins activated Cracraft, who has been with the team for the last two seasons.
Cracraft landed on IR in September due to a shoulder injury.
He’ll join a wide receiver group with the likes of stars Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson, and Braxton Berrios, among others.
