INFLUENCER Alix Earle has caused controversy among fans over pictures captured of her and her boyfriend, Dolphins’ wide receiver Braxton Berrios, alongside Ivanka Trump.
Earle and Berrios were seen partying with the former First Daughter in Miami, Florida, on December 6 to celebrate the annual Art Basel fair.
Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, went out for a night on the town and caught up with several others for a party to celebrate the event at the waterfront restaurant Casadonna Miami, per Daily Mail.
Earle and Barrios were seen posing for a photo online among the attendees alongside Ivanka and others like artist Myles Shear.
The snapshot of the group showed Ivanka in a pink dress next to Earle in gray, with Berrios sporting a cream-colored jacket and pant combination.
Earle was rumored to be with Berrios since March, but the prominent influencer, famous for her Get Ready With Me (GRWM) videos on TikTok, didn’t confirm they were a couple until last month.
The pair were first spotted together publicly in May at Earle’s graduation from the University of Miami and later made their red carpet debut at the ESPY Awards in July.
During a podcast episode of the show Call Her Daddy with Earle in November, the TikToker confirmed Berrios as her boyfriend.
Fans have been following the relationship timeline of the NFL couple closely, but with the picture from Wednesday’s party, political tensions are high.
Some fans of Earle, who has over 6 million followers on TikTok, said they feel she shouldn’t be hanging out with the Trump family, as it supposedly shows “support” for their beliefs.
Others voiced the viewpoint that Earle shouldn’t be ridiculed for attending Ivanka’s party, wherever her political affiliations lie.
The controversy came to a head after influencer Kerusso (@thoughtswgracie2.0) discussed the image of Earle and Berrios at the Miami party in a recent clip.
“I don’t know why everyone is so shocked by this photo,” Kerusso said of those who didn’t expect Earle to attend a party alongside a member of the Trump family.
She went on to note that sometime in 2022, Earle also posted an Instagram story of herself on a boat with a Trump election flag flowing in the breeze.
Earle then took the post down and went on a live TikTok to say she was “unaware” and had “more knowledge” of her political affiliations.
In the clip, Earle seemingly noted that she supported former President Trump in the past.
“At the time — I was like, yeah, go, Trump,” the influencer said of her flag video.
“But like what did I really know … nothing, obviously.”
“But I think that Trump is an idiot,” she added at the time.
“Yeah, she was lying — I personally believe,” Kerusso claimed of Earle’s comments backtracking her Trump flag video.
“Because they are, her whole family, closeted Republicans — not conservatives, Republicans.”
“They’re rich enough to have like the same beliefs, tax-wise as the Republican party,” Kerusso continued.
The TikToker compared Earle’s photo with Ivanka to when social media personality Addison Rae was spotted at a UFC event shaking hands with former President Donald Trump and received considerable backlash.
Kerusso again claimed that there were signs leading up to the situation that pointed to Rae’s supposed political affiliations.
‘WHY DOES IT MATTER’
Some viewers commented in agreement with Kerusso’s claims of Earle’s stance, given her picture with Ivanka.
“How are y’all surprised,” one person wrote.
“All the white people saying ‘and’ lol,” another added.
A third exclaimed: “Now that Alix Earle likes Trump he is suddenly a good person apparently!”
Although many others stood in opposition to Kerusso’s view of the situation and supported Earle, with many voicing support for the Trump family and the Republican Party.
Several said they liked the influencer even more for being spotted with Ivanka.
“Makes me like her even more!!!” one person wrote in the comments.
Another wrote: “Republican as she should be.”
“Woah shut the world down Alex Earle is a republican and supports Trump!!! Smartest woman EVER,” someone else said.
Others stood somewhere in the middle, questioning if attending an event was enough evidence to assume a political affiliation.
“I’m confused what the issue is here,” a commenter noted.
“Why does it matter,” a TikToker echoed.
“I don’t think anyone cares, ivanka trump has done nothing to anyone… it’s just a picture,” someone argued.
The U.S. Sun has contacted Earle for an official comment on fans’ controversy over her picture with Ivanka.
Berrios’ next game with the Miami Dolphins is on Christmas Eve against the Dallas Cowboys, and Earle may be there to support her hubby.
