STEPHEN A. Smith has sounded off on the Miami Dolphins ahead of the freezing cold trip to Arrowhead Stadium.

With Mike McDaniel’s Dolphinsset to brave the extreme cold to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, Smith seemingly reveled in their misfortune on Friday’s episode of ESPN’s First Take.

Speaking to Molly Qerim and Chris Canty, Smith admitted to being “so happy that the Miami Dolphins are in this situation,” adding: “You get what you deserve.

“You were in first place, I understand you had a plethora of injuries, but you still had the personnel, you blew some games, you never showed up on the road, and guess what the result is?

“Instead of playing in South Beach, you’ve got to go to Kansas City, Missouri, at Arrowhead Stadium, in -4 degree temperatures.

“You reap what you sow. You deserve this. Go out there and freeze.

“Maybe you’ll prioritize winning regular season games more when you step on the road.”

Qerim told Smith “That was cold” Stephen A.” in response, to which he replied: “Not as cold as it’s going to be for them this weekend.”

But it seems some Dolphins fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, agreed with Qerim.

“This seems awfully personal,” tweeted one fan.

A second wrote: “He is hating on the most injured team in the NFL that still won 11 games. What’s his issue?”

As a third replied: “Why do people legit hate the Dolphins so much? Where is all this animosity from?”

While another added: “He’s being overly dramatic, but also, he’s right.”

As Smith alluded to, the 2023 season was a mixed one for the Dolphins who finished with a home record of 7-2, compared to 4-4 away.

They also finished the season with back-to-back losses, all but handing the Buffalo Bills home-field advantage as well as the division title.

Now, the Dolphins have to travel to Missouri where, as of Friday afternoon, a wind chill of -21 degrees come the game’s 8pm ET kickoff has been forecast, as per the National Weather Service.
